Electrolysis is the only medically and scientifically proven method for permanent hair removal, with TGA and FDA clearance stating it “permanently removes hair.” Unlike other hair removal methods, electrolysis is effective on all hair types and skin tones because it targets individual follicles. Electrolysis has been successfully used for over 100 years and remains the most effective solution for truly permanent hair removal.

HOW TO WORKS

A fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle, delivering a precise electrical current that destroys the follicle’s ability to produce new hair. This process ensures that treated hairs do not grow back.

Initial sessions are spaced 1 to 2 weeks apart,

with maintenance treatments every 4 to 6 weeks as hair growth slows.

Please note: Electrolysis is charged based on time, not the number of hairs treated. Even with fewer hairs, the minimum charge will still apply, which is 15 minutes for $80.

Pregnancy: Electrolysis is generally not recommended during pregnancy, especially in areas such as the abdomen.

Pacemaker or implanted electrical device: Electrolysis uses electrical currents, so it’s advised to avoid the procedure if you have a pacemaker or any other implanted device that could be affected by electrical currents.

Active skin conditions: If you have active skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis in the treatment area, electrolysis should be avoided.

Cold sores: If you're experiencing a cold sore outbreak, particularly around the lip area, it’s best to wait until the outbreak has healed.

Recent chemical peels or laser treatments: These procedures can make the skin more sensitive, so it's advised to avoid electrolysis until the skin has fully healed.

Certain medications: Some medications, like blood thinners or retinoids, may make your skin more sensitive or increase the risk of irritation. Always consult with a professional if you're taking medication.

Pace Makers: Electrical current can interfere with the pacemakers function, potentially causing irregular heart rhythms or malfunction, it may disrupt the signals that regulates the pacemaker, posing a serious health risk.

Avoid Sun Exposure: Minimize sun exposure and use SPF 30+ for at least one week before treatment.

Discontinue Active Skincare: Stop using retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, and exfoliants 3–5 days prior to treatment to avoid skin irritation.

Avoid Harsh Treatments: Refrain from waxing, shaving, chemical peels, or laser treatments 1–2 weeks before your session.

Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and in good condition.

Clean Skin: Arrive with makeup-free, freshly cleansed skin to ensure the best results.

Is electrolysis really permanent?

Yes! Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal. It works by destroying the hair follicle with heat or chemical energy, preventing regrowth.

Does electrolysis hurt?

You may feel a quick, mild stinging or heat sensation, similar to a rubber band snap. Most clients tolerate it well, and numbing creams can be used for sensitive areas.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies based on the area treated, hair type, and hormone levels. Multiple sessions are needed to treat each hair during its active growth phase, usually spaced every 1–2 weeks initially.

Is electrolysis safe for all skin and hair types?

Yes! Unlike laser, electrolysis is effective on all hair colours and skin tones, including blonde, grey, and red hair.

Following electrolysis / diathermy treatments, your hair follicles and open wounds are open for 48 hours. To avoid bacteria getting in the open follicles, do not touch the treated area.

Redness & Swelling: Mild redness and swelling may occur, which should subside within a few hours to a day

Avoid sun exposure: Protect the treated area from the sun for at least 24–48 hours, as your skin will be more sensitive.

No makeup: Refrain from applying makeup to the treated area for at least 24 hours to avoid irritation.

Avoid touching or scratching: Do not touch or scratch the treated area to avoid infection or irritation.

Avoid hot tubs, saunas, or swimming: For 24 hours, avoid activities that may expose your skin to excess heat or bacteria.

Use gentle skincare: Stick to mild, hydrating skincare products that won't irritate the skin. Avoid using harsh exfoliants or strong acids for a few days post-treatment.

Apply a cold compress: If you experience swelling or redness, a cold compress can help soothe the treated area.
